Talking to reporters here, Secretary of Tamil Nadu unit of CPI D Pandian said "the Centre should concede the plea of Puducherry for full statehood".
He also criticised the Centre for levying interest on the loans sanctioned for Puducherry. "The loans sanctioned for Puducherry all these years were meant for welfare projects. Hence levying interest is akin to the practice of usury on the part of the Centre. Hence the Centre should drop levy of interest", he said.
He cautioned the voters against giving opportunity to BJP to come to power and asked them to ensure a clean and corruption-free government at the Centre.
