Actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada has hit out at Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav for opposing death penalty for rapists.
Campaigning for RLD candidate Amar Singh in the Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha constituency Sunday, she called Mulayam Singh's remarks "unfortunate" and "shameful".
"People will give a fitting reply (to him) in this election," she said, addressing large crowds during her roadshow.
Last week, actor Sri Devi campaigned for Amar Singh.
Amar Singh, whose party is allied with the Congress, is pitted against BJP's Choudhary Babu Lal, outgoing BSP MP Seema Upadhyaya, Laxmi Choudhary of AAP and Samajwadi Party's Paklikshaka Singh.
