Congress president Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday listed all development works done by her brother and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in Amethi.

"Rahul first took upon the task to connect this place with the rest of India. There is hardly any place which has many as seven highways connected to it. All kinds of trains pass through this place When he visited Pune and Manipal, which are famous for their technical institutes, he thought of replicating some of these institutions here in Amethi to generate job opportunities for the youth," Priyanka said at a public meeting here.

Priyanka also described how the milk production has sparked off a new lease of life in this region, and how a proposed food park is set to change the fortunes of farmers for good.

"He has brought a White Revolution here, so that your milk could be procured and goes to Mother Dairy and rest of India. There is also a food park in the pipeline. A farmer who produces potato will benefit a lot from this, as products from potato will be made so that it benefits all of you for years to come and ensures a bright future for the youth," Priyanka added.

"We faced a lot of trouble while implementing projects related to generating electricity and constructing roads," she said.

"He (Rahul) hasn't done all of this because of politics; it is because you have given him love and he wants to work with dedication; he wants to fulfill the dreams of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi which remain unfulfilled," Priyanka added.

"You must understand why the opposition comes here. They have no relation with you, they just come here because it is Rahul Gandhi's constituency. They will only be able to construct a mere five kilometres of road. Our work done in this constituency speaks for itself," she remarked.
