Seeking votes for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial nominee, Modi, Ramdev said the voters of Odisha were free to elect the party of their choice during the Assembly elections, for the benefit of the state. However, he urged the voters of the state to play a greater role in giving a stable government at the Centre. He did not utter a single word for or against the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief and incumbent Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
“People of Odisha should play a pivotal role in making Modi the prime minister of India. He can bring black money and increase mineral royalty, a demand that the state government has been hankering for. It does not come under the ambit of the state government to increase it,” said Ramdev.
Since Naveen Patnaik is yet to decide on his next move about an alliance with the National Democratic Alliance, people should not be confused. The Patnaik-led BJD might be a partner after the elections, he added.
Ramdev refrained from blaming the ruling BJD government in the alleged multi-crore mining scam despite the recommendations of the Shah Commission for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
All the scams would be enquired into as soon as the Modi government came to power and the process to bring back money stashed abroad would be initiated within 100 days of the formation of the government, he added.
