Dismissing allegations that he did not visit his Patna Sahib seat regularly, BJP candidate Shatrughan Sinha today said it was the other way around as his family complained that he did not spend enough time with them.

"Its a rumour spread by vested interests. There is no truth in it. Rather, it's the other way around. My family complains of not visiting them regularly and not staying for long in Mumbai," Sinha, who is locked in a four-corner contest in the Patna Sahib parliamentary seat, told PTI here.

"Check the records from the Patna Air Port or Kadam Kuan police station where my house is located on Nala road. I visit Patna at least four times a month," he said.

He claimed that such untruths were also spread by disgruntled members in his own party.

Boasting of statistics of development work in his constituency, he said that under the Prime Minister's Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY), eight roads of 0.7 km to 5.94 km totalling Rs 25 crore were taken up from his MP fund.

A total of 281 PCC roads were built from funds provided by him in Patna Sahib and another 161 were in the pipeline, he said.

Also provided were 190 hand pumps, a large number of toilets and bathrooms in areas inhabited by dalits, three ambulances, a fogging machine, a mammography machine and transformers.

Sinha was contesting against Bhojpuri actor Kunal Singh of Congress, Gopal Prasad Sinha of JD(U) and former JD(U) minister and now the Aam Aadmi Party candidate Parveen Amanullah. Elections would be held on April 17.

Asked about his chance, Sinha claimed "its Namo Namo everywhere.
