Another FIR has been lodged against controversial Samajwadi Party leader Mohd Azam Khan for making a provocative speech at an election rally in Afzalgarh in the district.

The FIR was registered against Khan on Apr 13 night at Afzalgarh police station here for violation of model code of conduct, official sources said here today.

The FIR was lodged by Assistant Returning Officer, Nagina, Ram Sachan under IPC 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc), IPC 153B( imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration), 505 IPC (Statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill- will between classes) and section 125 (people's Representation Act, 1951).

The Election Commission had on April 11 banned Khan from holding public meetings, processions or road shows in Uttar Pradesh.
