Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday called on people to vote for the grand alliance of JD-U, RJD and Congress to protect their land and for continuing to get reservation benefits.

"Your (people) land will be protected and you will continue to get benefit of reservation, if the grand alliance will form the next government in Bihar," Nitish Kumar said at a rally in Bhagalpur assembly constituency in Samastipur district.

Nitish Kumar, Janata Dal - United (JD-U) leader, said the victory of the grand alliance and defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would ensure that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have to think twice before snatching land from farmers and ending reservations for Dalits and Other Backward Classes.

He said the BJP was conspiring to end reservations. "People have to defeat BJP in Bihar to teach a hard lesson not to touch land acquisition bill and reservation policy."

"RSS chief has suggested to review reservation policy and BJP cannot ignore it. BJP- led government will change the constitution to end reservation to block the opportunity for development of the Dalits and backward classes. They will destroy the spirit of the constitution," Nitish Kumar said.
