ICICI Bank customers can book rail tickets from IRCTC by sending two SMSs. The cost of the ticket will be directly debited from the customer's savings account, said a press release from the bank.

For booking the ticket, customers whose mobile numbers are registered with ICICI Bank and IRCTC have to send an SMS to 139, for booking the ticket. The SMS should start with 'Book' and must mention the train number, home city, destination, travel date, class and details of the passengers like name, age and gender.

Then the customer will receive a message with details of transaction, amount (ticket amount +IRCTC service charge) and seat availability.

Once you receive the details, then send another SMS to 139 for the payment of the ticket. It should mention 'Pay' and mention details like transaction id as received, last six digits of your ICICI Bank account number, IRCTC user ID. Then you will receive the final confirmation message, which will have details such as PNR number, ticket number, booking status, class, amount, names of boarding and destination station, date of journey and scheduled departure.
