Hours after Gorakhpur Member of Parliament (MP) Yogi Adityanath was sworn in as the 21st chief minister of Uttar Pradesh today, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Assocham) urged him to facilitate easy credit for the beleaguered Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the state.

Assocham further congratulated Yogi over his elevation to the coveted post in UP.

UP has an MSME base of over 3 million and the sector is the largest job creator in the state after agriculture. It accounts for almost 40 per cent of the state’s economy.

“We at Assocham have full confidence that the new government in Uttar Pradesh will carry forward the economic growth and industrial development and work together with the Centre for the state’s betterment,” Assocham national secretary general DS Rawat said.

Improving power supply, easy credit to MSMEs and job creation are certain areas that require immediate attention of the new UP government, he opined.
