Swiss banking major UBS today said it has appointed Lukas Gahwiler as chief executive officer of UBS Switzerland.
He would also be co-CEO of Wealth Management and Swiss Bank. These appointment would be effective from April 1, 2010, UBS said in a statement.
Gahwiler who is succeeding Franco Morra would also become a member of the Group Executive board.
In his role as CEO of UBS Switzerland, Gahwiler would be responsible for all businesses – retail and wealth management, corporate and institutional, and investment banking and asset management – that deal with Swiss clients.
Before joining UBS, Gahwiler was Chief Credit Officer of Credit Suisse Private Banking.
"Gahwiler knows all parts of the banking business – retail banking, wealth management, corporate banking and investment," UBS AG CEO Oswald J Grubel said.
