The list of possible victims of an estimated $50-billion Madoff scam was made public today, which includes a number of big names such as Citi, HSBC, UBS and interestingly also Bernard Madoff himself along with his son Andrew and daughter-in-law Deborah.
The list of Madoff customers, totalling more than 13,000, also includes the name of global audit major Price Waterhouse, whose role is being probed in the biggest ever corporate fraud of India, which was disclosed last month by IT firm Satyam's founder Ramalinga Raju.
Another auditing major KPMG, which has been roped in alongside Deloitte to restate the financials of Satyam Computer, also figures on the list, but by way of its name being attached to one of the Madoff customers.
Besides, there are also names of some celebrities like famous media personality and radio presenter Howard Stern, baseball star Sandy Koufax, but it could not be ascertained whether these were the same people or their namesakes.
There is also an entity by the name of New York-based Reliance International Research LLC, but it is not related to the two Reliance groups of India.
