The government has extended Reserve Bank of India deputy governor HR Khan's tenure by another two years.

Khan who was appointed as deputy governor in 2011 was given a three year term, which was set to expire today.

As deputy governor, Khan looks after important portfolios like foreign exchange department, internal debt management among others
