After offering quality programmes in different areas of management through 16 campuses in India, the ICFAI Business School (IBS) is planning to expand its presence in foreign countries with five international centres.

“We are planning to go international by next year by opening centres at different foreign places including one at a location close to London, one in Switzerland near Geneva, another one in UAE near Dubai, and one each in Singapore and Adelaide,” P Bala Bhaskaran, director of IBS Ahmedabad, told Business Standard.

The centres will be operational by June, July or August depending on the local time functional for admissions. The course has been designed in local partnerships and the curriculum has been modified to the local flavour to make it more acceptable in these countries, he added.

The director added the university expects a leeway in terms of placements of the students who enrol themselves for these courses. “The international economic scenario is not quite comfortable as of now. But the students who enrol for various courses now will graduate in 2011. We hope to be in a better economic situation then,” said Bhaskaran.

Established in 1995 by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI), IBS is a constituent of the Icfaian Foundation.
