The 3rd annual convocation of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur awarded the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) to 98 students.

Sunil Munjal, Joint Managing Director of HeroMotocorp Ltd., and Chairman Hero Corporate Service Ltd., was the Chief Guest at the function. Hari S Bharita, Chairman, Board of Governor of the IIM Raipur, presided over the function.

While delivering the convocation address, Sunil Munjal stressed that great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance. He highlighted the need for the graduating class to be job creators and not just job seekers. The students felt every bit inspired to take with confidence their initial tread in the corporate world.

Munjal congratulated the graduates and asked them to think big, dream big and to follow their dreams with utmost dedication and perseverance. He illustrated the importance of setting goals as the first step towards turning dreams into reality.

Bhartia, applauded the cooperation from the Central Government, the State Government, Ministry of HRD, students, faculty members, Board of Governors in setting a new standard in management education. In keeping with the foundation principle of IIM Raipur he asked the students to step into the world with a commitment to use the knowledge they acquired at the institute and transform the society for betterment.

With anecdote like "Service before Self", he encouraged the batch to move ahead with confidence and conquer life's battles without giving up. Furthering this notion was one of the ideals of the Institute which believes in creating ethical leaders who are not only committed to business, commerce and industry but are also socially conscious towards their contribution in nation building and bring in name for the country globally. He advised the students to take an informed choice and to always remember that success is measured in terms of 'character' for which they were groomed at IIM Raipur.
