Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) is looking at investing close to Rs 150 crore in setting up two new campuses in Salt Lake and Rajarhat.

S N Ray, director, IISWBM, said, “We have got 3 acres from the government for a campus in Rajarhat. Our Rajarhat campus would be our international hub where we are looking at international affiliation and collaboration as well as research in social sciences.”

The institute’s Salt Lake campus, on the other hand, would be the institute’s ‘national’ hub, where IISWBM intends to build a full-time, residential campus.

While IISWBM would offer MBA, MHRM and MPSM courses at its Salt Lake campus, its Rajarhat campus is looking at extensive teaching and research in social sciences besides international collaboration.

The institute intends to introduce a one-year certificate course in retail management for working professionals. Other courses include bio-informatics with Calcutta University, ERP application and management with Oracle, one-year certificate course in business management for working executives, and PhD programmes under Calcutta University.

"We had once thought of a deemed university status but later opted out. We are affiliated to Calcutta University and would stick to it," added Ray.

The institute also intends to introduce course on management of urban administration, infrastructure and construction management, risk management, and micro finance.
