Media veteran

Vizeum, the media agency from Dentsu Aegis Network, has roped in Amita Karwal as chief operating officer, north and south. Karwal is a media veteran with an experience of working with Zenith Optimedia, Initiative Media as well as global advertisers Samsung and Reckitt Benckiser. Prior to this, Karwal was executive vice-president, north and east, at DDB Mudra Max. Karwal will report to Shripad Kulkarni, managing director, Vizeum.

Fund researcher

ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company has appointed Anish Tawakley as head of research. Tawakley will report to chief investment officer S Naren. Prior to this, Tawakley was the head of Barclays' Asia ex Japan sell-side financials sector research team with direct coverage of Indian financials. His work experiences include buy-side analyst and global sector project manager at Bernstein, and management consultant at McKinsey.

Brand designer

Interbrand India has appointed Deepali Shirali as creative director. Shirali has over 20 years of design experience across disciplines such as packaging design, branding and retail identity. She joins Interbrand after a long stint with Designsutra - the design arm of Contract Advertising India. Prior to that, she was associated with Fitch India, dCELL division of Lowe Lintas India, Channel V and several other notable names. Her work spans categories and brands such as Cadbury, The Tata Group, ITC, Britannia, Unilever India, Godfrey Phillips India, The Essar Group, Ashok Leyland and The Sahara Group. Shirali is an alumnus of Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai.

Mobile video on demand (VOD) service provider Vuclip has appointed Paritosh Shukla as its global head of human resources. His appointment comes close on the heels of the launches of Viu, Vuclip's over-the-top VOD service, in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and India. Shukla has more than 18 years of experience across sales, marketing and human resource functions in organisations such as Asian Paints and Akzonobel. Prior to this, he worked as general manager, human resources, at Samsung Electronics, South West Asia business unit.
