Recruiters make beeline at KIIT campus

The city-based KIIT University continues to pull top recruiters to its campus. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's largest software consultancy firm, has picked up a record 658 students in the campus placement held on December 15 while as many as 702 students bagged job offers from the Tata Group.

The selected students, who would be passing out in 2011, belong to BTech, MTech and MCA streams of the university. Job offers to 658 students by TCS in campus placement on a single day are a record in the entire eastern India till now, claimed a release by KIIT University.

The KIIT students fared extremely well with 658 of 705 students who went through the selection process of TCS made it to the final list. Over the years, KIIT University has emerged as the favourite recruiting ground for Tata Group. Tata Power and Tata Cummings are other companies of the group that offered jobs to KIIT students.

In addition to Tata Group, ten other companies including Shapoorji Pallonji, L&T, ECC, IVRCL, Tata Steel, Soma Infrastructure, Tega Industries and TVS Motors participated in the KIIT campus placement, offering jobs to 250 students of non-IT stream.

“It is just the start of placement season at KIIT and most of the students of the 2010-11 batch are placed”, said N V Shastry, deputy director (placement), KIIT University.
