Sunstone Business School, released the placement report of its founding batch that graduated in July 2012. The students were appreciated by the industry with offers in product management, consulting, general management and business development roles. Salary offered was in the range of Rs 22 lakh to Rs 51 lakh per annum.
Sunstone Business School is a specialised management school for working professionals in the IT/ITES industry present in Delhi and Pune.
"Twenty-one students graduated from Sunstone founding batch. Among the placed students, those who changed jobs or got internal promotion have seen a significant increase in compensation (between 50 and 100%). They have been able to switch to business-centric roles and may get more interesting roles from here on. Median would be about Rs 25 lakh annual CTC as an output," said Rajul Garg, Director of Sunstone Business School.
Sunstone students have gotten into several companies such as Adobe, Times, Expedia, Opera Solutions, Bharti SoftBank, Citrus Payments, and Apollo Mountain. Few students have switched from technical roles to strategy and client facing roles within their companies like TCS, IBM. Four of the students chose to become entrepreneurs.
"Given that our program is for working professionals, they are generally more discerning about the kind of opportunities they get into. When you go to a campus program and have a loan to repay, you try to get a job by the end of the course. In our case, students only switch if they find something that changes their career trajectory," added Garg.
