Aid to units in the works: Thomas

The Centre on Thursday said it was working on a financial package for the hard-pressed mills. It asked states to implement the Rangarajan panel's recommendation of linking cane rates with sugar price. "Sharing of profits and other areas are with the states," Food Minister K V Thomas said. "There should be some financial assistance. We are working on it."
