Almond continue to slide on sluggish demand

Almond prices fell by Rs 150 per 40 kg in the wholesale dry fruits market today on sluggish demand against increased supplies. Elsewhere, other dry fruits fluctuated in a narrow range on scattered buying or selling and settled around previous levels.

Traders said increased supplies against sluggish demand mainly pulled down wholesale almond prices.

In the national capital, almond (California) fell by Rs 150 to Rs 11,000 per 40 kg, while its kernel (California) and (gurbandi-new) traded lower by Rs 5 each to Rs 375-380 and Rs 305-380 per kg, respectively.
