Almond declines on reduced offtake

Almond prices declined by Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital today on the back of reduced offtake by retailers and stockists due to off-marriage season.

Adequate stocks position followed by increased arrivals from overseas markets also weighed on the prices.

Almond (california) prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 10,200 per 40 kg and its kernel also eased by Rs 5 to Rs 345-350 per kg.

Traders attributed the fall in almond prices to reduced offtake by retailers and stockists due to off-marriage season mainly pulled down almond prices.
