Ashok Leyland down after decline in Oct sales

October 2013 stood at 6,803 units down 15% compared with 7,997 units in October 2012

Shares of Ashok Leyland were down over 2% at Rs 17.65 after October 2013 sales showed a decline compared to the same month last year.

Sales for October 2013 stood at 6,803 units down 15% compared with 7,997 units sold in October 2012, the company said in a release.

In the medium to heavy vehicle segment sales in October 2013 were down 18% at 4,093 units compared with 4,964 units in October last year.

In the light commercial vehicle segment sales in October 2013 were down 11% to 2,710 units compared with 3,033 units sold in October last year.

Over 1.1 million shares were traded so far on both the stock exchanges.
