Asian markets end -ve; Seoul Composite down 2%

The Asian markets ended on a mixed note.

The Hang Seng dropped 58 points to 20,955.

The Nikkei shed 154 points (1.5%) to 9,979. The stock hit its lowest close in two months on Thursday, with shares of exporters hurt by a stronger yen, while uncertainty about the policies of the country's new government dampened investor confidence.

The Seoul Composite dropped 28 points (2%) to 1,644 and the Straits Times was down marginally at 2,660.

The Shanghai Composite and the Taiwan Weighted Index were up over 0.5% each at 2,780 and 7,545, respectively.

Asian markets have slipped today.

The Hang Seng is down 58 points at 20,955. The Nikkei has slipped 164 points (1.5%) to 9,968.

The Seoul Composite has shed 26 points (1.5%) at 1,648. The Straits Times has moved down 18 points at 2,655.

Meanwhile, the Shanghai Composite has added 25 points (1%) to 2,799. The Taiwan Weighted is flat at 7,545.

The Asian markets have opened on a mixed note today morning.
 
The Hang Seng has slipped 58 points to 20,955. The Seoul Composite has dropped 2% to 1,636 and the Nikkei was down 1% at 9,990.

The Taiwan Weighted Index and the Shanghai Composite on the other hand are up marginally at 7,527 and 2,779, respectively.
