Asian markets track US losses

Asian markets are again in red this morning following extremely weak cues from the US markets.

The Hang Seng has shed 230 points at 12,730. The Nikkei has plunged 61 points to 8,005.

The Taiwan Weighted index, however, is up eight points at 4,250. The Straits Times has slipped 26 points to 1,697, and the Seoul Composite index has declined 16 points to 1,111.

The Shanghai Composite index is almost flat at 1,995 - up a point.
