The share price of copper maker SWIL today hit the upper circuit filter of 20 per cent on the BSE, at Rs 7.30, on talks that there were at least four bidders for a stake in the company.
The stock remained locked at the 20 per cent ceiling till the end of the trading session.
Around 325452 shares were traded on the BSE till then. At its upper limit, the outstanding buy position at the counter was 35,475 shares.

Market rumours were that financial institutions are planning to hive off stakes in the copper manufacturer. In the bargain, four entities, including the AV Birla group, have shown interest in picking up equity and management control in the company.
Later during the day, an AV Birla spokesperson had confirmed of the groups interest in reply to a query by the bourses.
