Rice prices declined up to Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on sluggish demand against increased arrivals from producing belts.

Elsewhere, other grains prices moved in a narrow range in restricted buying activity and settled around previous levels.

Traders said adequate stocks positions, following increased arrivals from producing belts amid subdued demand, mainly led to a decline in wholesale rice prices.

In the rice section, basmati common declined by Rs 100 to Rs 5,300-5,400 per quintal.
