Breaching The Wma Limit & #8212; Again

The Union government has breached the ways and means advances (WMA) limit four times within the first nine weeks of the current financial year. Going by the the latest weekly statistical supplement of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the WMA limit utilised by the Centre as on June 8 stood at Rs 10,499 crore piercing the cap of Rs 10,000 crore.

The Centre had breached this limit set for first half of 2001-02 by the RBI on three previous occasions
