Cardamom down 0.7% on weak demand
Spice for delivery in November declined by 0.3%
Press Trust of India New Delhi Cardamom prices fell for the fourth straight session by losing 0.79% to Rs 753.50 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced their holdings due to weak demand in the spot market.
Adequate stocks availability in the physical market on increased arrivals from producing regions also kept pressure on cardamom.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December month declined by Rs 6, or 0.79%, to Rs 753.50 per kg in business turnover of 123 lots.
Likewise, cardamom for delivery in November declined by Rs 2.40, or 0.33%, to Rs 733 per kg in 1001 lots.
Market analysts said speculators reduced their holdings due to weak demand in the spot market against adequate stocks positions mainly influenced cardamom prices in futures trade.
