Cardamom prices declined by 0.31% to Rs 811 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their holdings amid sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate supplies.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom prices for delivery in November declined by Rs 2.50, or 0.31% to Rs 811 per kg in business turnover of 3 lots.

Similarly, cardamom for delivery in October traded lower by Rs 1.80, or 0.23% to Rs 775.60 per kg in 83 lots.

Market analysts said the fall in cardamom prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to off-loading of positions by speculators due to sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate supplies from producing regions.
