Cardamom prices slipped by Rs 5 to Rs 948 per kg in futures trade today as speculators preferred to reduce their positions following sluggish demand at existing higher levels.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for November delivery slipped by Rs 5, or 0.60%, to Rs 948 per kg, with a business turnover of 12 lots.
August delivery lost Rs 2.30, or 0.27%, to Rs 843.10 per kg, with an open interest of 108 lots.
Analysts said sluggish demand at prevailing high levels against adequate stocks position due to increased arrivals in the physical market mainly led to a fall in cardamom prices in futures trade.
