Cardamom prices fell by Rs 5.50 to Rs 727 per kg in futures market today, owing to slackness in demand at prevailing high levels.

Adequate stocks availability in the physical market also put pressure on the cardamom futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, November cardamom declined by Rs 5.50, or 0.75%, to Rs 727 per kg, with a business turnover of 559 lots.

The December contract shed Rs 3.70, or 0.35%, to Rs 776.50 per kg, with a trade volume of 94 lots.

Market anlysts said sluggish demand in the spot market at existing high levels against adequate supply mainly led to fall in cardamom futures prices.
