Castorseed prices moved up by Rs 56.50 to Rs 4,749 per quintal in future trade today, buoyed by a firming trend in the domestic and overseas markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for delivery in June rose by Rs 56.50, or 1.20 per cent, to Rs 4,749 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 210 lots.
Similarly, prices for delivery in March increased by Rs 20.50, or 0.40%, to Rs 5,095 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,910 lots.
Castorseed prices for delivery in April too moved up by Rs 2.50, or 0.05%, to Rs 4,765 per quintal, with a business volume of 10,250 lots.
Market analysts said besides a firming trend overseas and in the domestic markets, lower stocks position, also influenced castorseed futures prices.
