Castorseed prices firmed up by Rs 96 to Rs 5,028 per quintal in future trade today following brisk buying by traders, driven by firm spot market sentiment.
Marketmen said strong demand from consuming industries amid restricted supply in physical markets, supported an uptrend in castorseed prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for far April contract shot up by Rs 96, or 1.95%, to Rs 5,020 per quintal with an open interest of 15,010 lots.
Most active February contract hardened by Rs.62, or 1.28% to Rs 4,887 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,65,500 lots.
