Chana falls 0.1% on higher output hopes

Expectations of higher output this season triggered the downtrend

Chana futures for May declined by Rs 5, or 0.14% to Rs 3496 per quintal in 21,180 lots.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange (NCDEX), the April contract shed Rs 4, or 0.12% to Rs 3445 per quintal in 35,680 lots.

Prices dropped as speculators trimmed positions amid expectations of higher output this season.

Expanded area under cultivation led to hopes of higher outputs.
