Chilli futures down on sluggish demand

Chilli futures prices slipped by Rs 256 to Rs 8,330 per quintal today as traders reduced their positions due to fall in demand at the spot market.    

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chilli for July delivery moved down by Rs 256, or 2.98%, to Rs 8,330 per quintal, with an open interest of 11,565 lots.   

Likewise, chilli for August delivery lost Rs 222, or 2.54%, to Rs 8510 per quintal, with a trade volume of 8,955 lots.   

Market analysts said traders reduced their positions due to fall in demand in the spot market mainly pulled down chili futures prices.
