Commodity picks- 26 September 2016

Pepper
Pepper at the Kochi market is currently trading at Rs 71,733 a quintal. The demand is low and availability of imported pepper from Sri Lanka and Vietnam is adequate.

This could keep pressure over prices, which can slip towards Rs 71,000 in coming days.

Maize

Maize prices in Nizamabad are trading at Rs 1,927 per quintal. Prices are expected to trade lower towards Rs 1,800 in the coming weeks on approaching peak arrivals and influx of fresh crop. However, the price fall would be limited by incessant rainfall in Telangana which is expected to delay the harvesting.
