Copper up 0.09% on strong global cues

Speculators enlarging positions supported the trade

Copper futures for far-month April up by 40 paise, or 0.09%, to Rs 427.60 per kg in 3,596 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract traded 30 paise, or 0.07% higher, at Rs 432.90 per kg in 162 lots.

Speculators enlarging positions supported the trade. Further, pick-up in spot market demands also supported the upside.

Exports by China, the world's second-biggest economy rose 21.8% last month from a year earlier, beating the 8.1%. It strengthened the metal globally.

The three months' contract climbed 0.2% to $7,783 per tonne at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

While at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SFEX), the June contract advanced 0.5% to 56,800 yuan ($9,139) per tonne.
