Crompton Greaves gains on order from Belgian company

Meanwhile, about 7.19 million shares of Crompton Greaves changed hands on BSE through block deal.

Shares of Crompton Greaves trading higher by 2% at Rs 184 on BSE after the company on Friday after market hours said that it has bagged order from Belgian company Northwind.

"The Avantha Group Company has been awarded a contract from the Belgian offshore wind farm operator Northwind to provide operation and maintenance services for the 216 MW wind farm offshore substation on the Lodewijk bank, 40 km off the Belgian coast," Crompton Greaves said in its filing to the exchange.

This prestigious order followed a previous contract won by CG at the Northwind offshore wind farm for the grid connection study and supply of a 275 MVA main transformer and two reactors of 65 MVA, it added.

Crompton Greaves will provide complete end-to-end services in order to effectively monitor, maintain and repair the offshore substation and ensure optimal availability and safety for ten years.

Meanwhile, a huge block deal executed on the Crompton Greaves counter on BSE. About 7.19 million shares representing 1.15% of total equity of Crompton Greaves changed hands on BSE. The name of the buyers and sellers are not immediately known.

The stock opened at Rs 183 and touched a high of Rs 185 on BSE so far.
