Cyient gains on FII buying

Oppenheimer Funds, Inc. (F. I. I.) and Sub-Accounts bought 527,000 equity shares of Cyient though the open market on June 24.

Shares of Cyient were trading higher by 3% at Rs 596 on the NSE after the information technology (IT) consulting & software firm said that Oppenheimer Funds, Inc. hiked its stake in the company through open market purchases.

Oppenheimer Funds, Inc. (F. I. I.) and Sub-Accounts bought 527,000 equity shares representing 0.47% of the total equity of Cyient though the open market on June 24, Cyient said in a BSE filing. The stock hit a record high of Rs 615 on Wednesday.

Post acquisition, total holdings of Oppenheimer Funds, Inc. (F. I. I.) and Sub-Accounts in Cyient increased to 5.15% from 4.68% earlier, the company added.

As of March 31, 2015, Oppenheimer International Small Company Fund held 4.1% stake in Cyient, the shareholding pattern data shows.

The stock opened at Rs 585 and hit a high of Rs 598 on the NSE. A combined 23,000 shares changed hands on the counter till 1212 hours on the NSE and BSE.
