Cyient surges on pact with Amdocs to deploy GE's GIS, Smallworld

Cyient surged 9% to Rs 509 on BSE in early morning trade after the company announced that it is collaborating with Amdocs to implement GE’s Geographical Information System (GIS), Smallworld, as a part of the Next-generation business/operations support system (NGBOSS) project for NetLink Trust.

"The NGBOSS project aims to develop the user experience for Net Link Trust’s customers with faster implementation of new fibre networks, reducing fault repair and outage times at the same time. It also aims to deliver improved service quality,"Cyient said in a release.

In this partnership, Amdocs will play a role of solution provider, and will also operate as the main system integrator of third-party software and hardware.

Amdocs will deliver an extensive BSS/OSS suite that will include an online portal, billing, order composition and service order management, workforce management and service assurance components.

Further, Cyient will ensure delivery of uninterrupted services to NetLink Trust’s customers, through the implemented solutions.

At 9:23 am; the stock was up 6.5% at Rs 497 as compared to 0.13% decline in the S&P BSE Sensex. A combined 79,252 shares changed hands on the counter on BSE and NSE so far.
