Avenue Supermarts (D-Mart) touched an all-time high of Rs 806.8 a share on the BSE on Monday, before closing at Rs 775.5, up 3.3 per cent from the previous close. This made the retailer the 54th most-valued company on the bourse, with market capitalisation of Rs 48,397.7 crore. The stock saw a record trade in volume and value for the day, with  16.94 million shares worth Rs 1,336.4 crore changing hands on the bourses. The delivery for the stock, however, remained as low as 11.4 per cent, indicating speculative trade. The day also made promoter Radhakishan Damani richer by Rs 1,300 crore. Since the initial public offering, which was priced at Rs 299, the value of his stake in Avenue Supermarts has gone up from Rs 15,339 crore to Rs 39,800 crore, a gain of Rs 24,461 crore.
