F&O Update: Nifty Aug, Sep futures end on par with spot

The Nifty August futures ended at a marginal (two points) premium at 4,337 as against the spot Nifty which closed at 4,335 (up eight points). The August futures saw trades of around 4.22 lakh contracts and the open interst rose declined by 3.26 lakh shares to 3.17 crore shares.

The Nifty September futures ended at 4,234, and the open intrest increased by 59.34 lakh shares to 1.03 crore shares on the back of 1.32 contracts traded today.

CALL ACTION

The Nifty August 4,400 call was the most active counter with trades of 1.41 lakh contracts and the open interest was up by 95,250 shares to 32.84 lakh shares.

It was followed by the 4,300 and 4,500 calls which saw trades of around 50,833 and 49,077, contracts respectively. The 4,300 call open interest dropped by 2.33 lakh shares to 18.76 lakh shares, and the open interest in 4,500 call declined by 2.89 lakh shares to 37 lakh shars.

The September 4,500 and 4,400 calls also saw brisk activity with trades of around 11,149 and 10,300 contracts, respectively. The 4,500 call open interest rose by 3.66 lakh shares to 9.89 lakh shares, and the 4,400 call open interest was up by 1.57 lakh shares to 7.66 lakh shares.

PUT ACTION

The Nifty 4,300 and 4,400 puts were the most actively traded counters with trades of 94,952 and 82,642, contracts respectively. The 4,300 put open interest increased by 4.92 lakh shares to 35.23 lakh shares, and the 4,400 put open interest went up by 4.17 lakh shares to 31.16 lakh shares.

The 4,200 put registered trades of 28,101 contracts and the open interest declined by 98,900 shares to 24.63 lakh shares.

The September 4,300 and 4,400 puts clocked trades of 19,816 and 18,392 contracts, respectively. The 4,300 put  open interest rose by 5.16 lakh shares to 14.16 lakh shares, and the 4,400 put open interest was up by 6.05 lakh shares to 9.80 lakh shares.
