With the elevation of Chitra Ramkrishna as the MD & CEO of the National Stock Exchange, India joins a select group of countries whose premier stock exchange is headed by a woman. Israel and Sri Lanka are already on the list. So are emerging markets South Africa and China. In all, there are just nine women heading exchanges out of 57 bourses across the world registered with the World Federation of Exchanges.
