Gati firms up on robust Q4 net profit

Net profit for March 2016 quarter increased 37% to Rs 15.5 crore compared with March 2015 quarter

Share of Gati were up 2% at Rs 121 on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company reported consolidated net profit of Rs 15.5 crore for the quarter ended March 2016, up 37% compared with Rs 11.3 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

Total income for the quarter was higher at Rs 42 crore compared with Rs 43.3 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2015, the company said in a release.

The board of directors has recommended a final dividend @50% i.e., Re 1/- per equity share of Rs 2/- each for the year ended March 31, 2016, the release added.

The stock opened at Rs 122 and touched a high of Rs 123. At 12:15pm, over 1.1 million shares were traded on both the stock exchanges.
