Gram dal and sugar prices down

Prices of gram dal and sugar declined in the wholesale foodgrains market here today, but the rates for other commodities remained unchanged.

Gram dal moved down by Rs 50 to Rs 3,000 per quintal from yesterday's rate of Rs 3,050, while sugar fell by Rs 20 to Rs 2,880 per quintal from Rs 2900 yesterday.

Tur dal, urad dal, moong dal, sugar, wheat, maida and sooji were being traded at yesterday's levels.

The following are the wholesale prices of commodities here today (in rupees per quintal, except where specified otherwise): tur dal Rs 6,800, urad dal Rs 6,000, moong dal Rs 6,900, gram dal Rs 3,000, sugar Rs 2,880, wheat Rs 1,950, maida (90 kg) Rs 1,750 and sooji (90 kg) Rs 1,950.
