Jeera up 0.2% on pick up in spot demand

Spice for delivery in December gained 0.17%

Jeera prices rose by 0.26% to Rs 12,690 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions, supported by pick up in in spot market demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in November rose by Rs 32.50, or 0.26%, to Rs 12,690 per quintal with an open interest of 10,527 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in December gained Rs 22.50, or 0.17%, to Rs 12,892.50 per quintal in 2,976 lots.

Market analysts said the rise in jeera prices in futures trade was mostly attributed to fresh positions created by speculators supported by pick up in demand in the spot market.
