Jeera up 0.54% on spot demand

Restricted arrivals see August contract rise 0.52%

Jeera prices rose by 0.54% to Rs 15,835 per quintal in the futures market today on pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in September gained Rs 85, or 0.54%, to Rs 15,835 per quintal, with an open interest of 21,756 lots.

August jeera traded higher by Rs 80, or 0.52%, to Rs 15,440 per quintal in 8,328 lots.

Marketmen said pick up in spot market demand against restricted arrivals from producing belts led to the rise in jeera futures.
