KNR Constructions gains on Rs 729 crore new orders

The stock was up 6% at Rs 466 on the National Stock Exchange.

Shares of KNR Constructions were trading higher by 6% at Rs 466 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) after the company said it has bagged orders worth Rs 729 crore from a Tamil Nadu government undertaking for upgradation of roads.

The first order is for developing "Kanchipuram-Vandavasi road and Sdras-Chengalpattu-Kancheepuram-Arakonam-Thiruthani road" which is to be completed within a period of 36 months from the appointed date, KNR Constructions said in a statement.

The second project is for upgrading "Arcot Villupuram Road" which is to be completed within a period of 42 months from the appointed date.

The third order is for "upgrading Malliyakarai-Rasipuram-Thiruchengode-Erode Road," it said.

The stock opened at Rs 460 and touched high of Rs 475 on the NSE. Till 0947 hours, a combined 71,756 shares changed hands on the counter on the NSE and BSE.
