A 5-day international summit aimed at drawing up a broad policy framework for the integrated development of coconut industry in India through community level organisations of small and marginal coconut farmers would be held in Kochi from May 7 to 11.
The meet besides deliberating on major issues concerning the coconut industry in India and abroad, will also strive to formulate a common strategy for all the coconut producing countries to resolve the various problems facing the industry.
Expert from various coconut growing countries including Sri Lanka, Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia would participate in the summit and present their papers.
The proposed meet is being organised jointly by Coconut Development Board, Coir Board, Bharatiya Marketing Development and various organisations under the Ministries of Agriculture as well as Science & Technology.
