Lead down 0.81% on sluggish demand

May contract declines 0.77% on subdued demand from battery-makers

Lead prices dropped by 0.81% to Rs 110.05 per kg in futures trade today due to sluggish demand from battery-makers.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in June declined 90 paise, or 0.81%, to Rs 110.05 per kg in business turnover of 133 lots.

The May contract dropped by 15 paise, or 0.77%, to Rs 109.80 per kg in 1,945 lots.

Analysts said sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market mainly kept pressure on lead prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, lead traded a shade lower at $2,014 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
